For years residents of Baston have had to settle for festive illuminations in the nearby village of Langtoft.
Now they can boast their very own Christmas tree and festive lights.
Resident Grace Evans said: “We have never had a Christmas tree as a focal point for the festivities.
“I approached the Parish Council for £90 to purchase one because Langtoft have a Christmas tree lit up every year and I thought it would be nice if Baston had the same. And Baston Firework committee donated money for Christmas tree lights.
“We intend to have a turning on the lights event in December to raise money for additional lights.”
The new tree was planted at The Barn on the village playing fields, on Sunday by Grace and two parish councillors Alan Hutchins and David Wheatley.
