Members of Bourne Methodist Church joined campaigners in a walk in Bourne for Pilgrimage for Peace, against spending money on nuclear weapons, on Monday.

The group, walking from Iona to London this summer, travelled from Sleaford to Bourne on Monday and continued from Bourne to Market Deeping on Tuesday where they held a picnic for peace lunch at the Garden of Remembrance in the town.

They want the UK Government to abandon the renewal of the Trident nuclear missile system and instead spend that £100 billion on hard-pressed NHS, education and social welfare budgets.
