More than 200 classic cars are to go on show in Uppingham on Sunday as the Stilton Cheese Classic Vehicle Run passes through the town.

Uppingham has been chosen as the starting point for the annual event which raises funds for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.

The event has been organised to coincide with the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club’s annual Drive it Day for which owners of classic vehicles are encouraged to take to the road.

The parade will also pass through Harringworth and Seaton before arriving at The Bell Inn in Stilton, Cambridgeshire.

In Uppingham, Market Square and the High Street down to the Queen Street junction will be closed to traffic from 8am to midday, as the cars go on show.

Anyone wanting to register a car can do so at The Falcon Hotel in High Street East between 9am to 11.30am.

The event has been organised in collaboration with the Kettering Area Motor Club, The Citroen Specials Club and the Federation of British Historic Vehicles Club. Visit stiltoncheeserun.webs.com
