More than £480 was raised for a community service at a coffee morning in Deeping St James.

About 70 people attended the event at Open Door Centre in Spalding Road on Saturday.

The coffee morning was held to raise funds for Age Concern Deepings.

The visitors enjoyed a bric-a-brac sale, raffle and tombola, and a tea and cake sale.

The morning was one of a number of events which have been organised to raise funds for the service in order to help keep it running once Lincolnshire County Council withdraws its financial support in June next year.

Event organiser Robert Parmenter said: “We would like to thank all who attended and spent money, all who donated bread, cakes and presents for the raffle and tombola, not forgetting those who made the tea and coffee and manned the stalls.”
