A charity crafts dabble day raised £625 for the Thorpe Hall Hospice Appeal.
Dabble days are organised twice yearly by Donna McKean-Smith who runs Riverside Beads and Crafts from the Antiques Centre in Market Deeping High Street. Saturday’s event was held at the Deepings Community Centre in nearby Douglas Road.
Donna said that damp weather early on got them off to a slow start but by the end of the day about 50 people had walked through the door. Those taking part paid a fee to have a go and learn three different crafts.
“It was fantastic. We had seven tables, including card-making and jewellery-making. We always have different activities so that our regulars who turn up religiously every time, always have something new to learn,” Donna said.
The next event will be at the Deepings Community Centre on Saturday, March 29, with activities relevant to Mother’s Day.
