Pedestrian killed in A1 collision named

Police have named a pedestrian killed in a collision on the A1 at Wittering in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident happened at around 1.47am when a pedestrian and a green BMW 330i collided.

Police have named the man as 23-year-old Andrew Hallam, of Kenilworth Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

The driver of the BMW, a 49-year-old woman from Cambridge, and her passenger, a 48-year-old man from Cambridge, were not hurt.

PC Pete Bimson, from the roads policing unit, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident.

“I am also keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the pedestrian in the moments leading up to the collision?”

Anyone with information should contact the roads policing unit on 101.
