Generous businesses and visitors who supported a summer fete held at Bourne Abbey Church hall have helped raise more than £700 for two charities.
Roy and Sue Walton who organised the event said they were “very grateful” to all those who came to it and the local shops who donated raffle prizes.
“We’d also like to thank the many volunteers who helped on the day,” said Mrs Walton, a warden at the Almshouses, in Bourne.
“It was a beautiful day and lots of people turned up.”
All the stalls including the ones selling teas, bric-a-brac and nearly new items as well as the raffle were well supported, Mrs Walton said.
This was the 10th year of the annual fete which raises money for two different charities each year.
Over the decade it has raised more than £10,500 for a number of charities.
Profits from this year’s fete will be given to Macmillan Cancer Support and the Evergreen Care Trust.
