Rutland MP Alan Duncan has visited Oakham Enterprise Park to see the extensive work that is taking place.
In recent weeks, four old prison accommodation blocks have been demolished and sections of the high wire fence have started to be taken down.
The work is part of an overall plan by Rutland County Council to transform the former prison site into a business park complete with office, industrial and storage units.
Mr Duncan, who is pictured above with county council deputy leader Terry King (Con), said: “It is great to see the progress that is already being made. The council got a great deal on the site and is hard at work transforming it into the business hub it will become.”
