A COOK swapped the kitchen for the beautician’s table when he endured a sponsored chest wax.

David Thorold supported the fundraising efforts of colleagues at Holland House care home, in Church Street, Market Deeping, by having his chest waxed.

Some of the home’s residents watched on as Cara Boughtwood waxed his chest.

The home had already raised £230 at a garden party, which was organised to raise awareness of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Attractions on the day included a barbecue, tombola, cake stall, and raffle.

Both events raised a total of £470 which will be divided between Action of Elder Abuse and residents comfort fund.

The home’s Rosalind Lukins said: “David was very brave and a couple of residents had front row seats while he underwent his waxing torture.”
