PRODUCERS and craftsmen were out in force on Sunday, despite the weather putting a dampener on events.
The Cottesmore Gardening Club village fete was deemed a success as the weather started to clear up in the afternoon and villagers came out to support the event.
There were 39 entrants into the produce show and artists and craftsmen from all disciplines brought along their work to display and be admired.
Among the artwork was woodturning, embroidery, gold thread embroidery, knitting and handbags.
There was also a fun dog show and plenty of entertainment for all of the family with quad bikes, stalls and activities.
Organiser Linda King said: “It rained all morning and we were worried that it would be a wash out, but the sun came out in the afternoon and so did the people.
“It was very well supported by people in the village and we are very grateful.”
Money raised from the event will go back into the Cottesmore Gardening Club funds to pay for the event and for activities throughout the year.
The club currently has 20 members and meets once a month.
