CHILDREN, parents and staff of Cottesmore Village Playgroup are celebrating their recent Ofsted inspection after retaining a grading of good.

The inspection follows the pre-school’s relocation to the site of St Nicholas Primary School in Cottesmore.

Ofsted praised the staff in their report, saying that they have a “good understanding of their role in supporting children to progress and feel safe.”

The report also said “positive partnerships are in place with parents”, and that “parents spoken to, highly value the friendly and professional service that is offered.”

Ofsted recommended that the pre-school “increase resources outdoors to enhance children’s learning.”

Staff said that as a charity organisation they are regularly holding fund raising activities in order to increase their resources for the children.

This year, any funds raised will be spent on equipment for outdoor activities.

The children are particularly keen to enlarge the sand pit area.

The pre-school is open from 9am to midday, Monday to Friday. For further information call Karen Corbett on 07532 065413.
