Councillors could give the green light to spending £130,000 on repairs to a swimming pool at a meeting next week.
Rutland county councillors have been recommended by the council’s cabinet to approve the work to the facility at Catmose Sports Centre, which has been closed for seven weeks after leaks were found in the roof.
The repairs to the beams and aluminium frame will ensure the building is structurally safe and the changing rooms are kept dry. The work will cost £130,000.
A decision is set to be made by councillors at a full council meeting, at the council offices, in Catmose, on Monday next week.
If approved, the aim would be to reopen the pool to the public in the new year once the work has been completed.
The pool, which has been at the Catmose College site since 1981, was refurbished in 2005, with a new roof put on. The roof had been expected to last 10 years.
