RAF Wittering personnel and residents will be treated to a Royal visit today (Tuesday).

The Countess of Wessex is visiting the base in her capacity as Honorary Air Commodore of the station. Lord Lieutenant for Cambridgeshire Hugh Duberly will also be in attendance.

During the visit the Countess will present medals to RAF Wittering personnel, meet the families of serving personnel and meet some of the units which will relocate to the station in the coming months.

A flying display from the University Air Squadrons who are in the process of moving to the base is planned.

The Countess will also rename the children’s centre at Wittering Primary School. She last visited in May last year.
