A day in the country will raise funds for a forces charity.

Lady Brassey is hosting the countryside event at her home The Manor House in Apethorpe, which will be held on Armed Forces Day Saturday, June 29, between 10.30am and 3pm.

Fly casting expert Michael Evans will be giving casting demonstrations.

There will also be fly tying, pond dipping, a treasure hunt, a tombola, a woodland walk, bird watching, as well as drinks and canapes.

Entry is £5 for adults, children go free.

The event will raise funds for Fishing for Forces, a charity which provides fishing for people returning from operational duties because being by the water is therapeutic.

Lady Brassey said Fishing for Forces was a “wonderful charity” and hopes people will enjoy the day.
