County council’s bid for £6.5m to mend the roads

THE county council has submitted a bid for £6.5m to the Department of Transport to repair roads damaged by the drought.

A total of 154 sites have been marked out as priority areas in Lincolnshire, with the south east identified as the worst hit area.

The roads became damaged and cracked after the warm weather caused the soil to lose moisture and subside under the road surface.
