Antiques stolen from shops in Stamford

THIEVES have been targeting antique shops.

Items were stolen from Stuart Porter Antiques in Broad Street, Stamford, between 5.30pm on Wednesday and 3.40am on Thursday.

Police are talking to the shop’s owner to find out exactly what was stolen.

And a number of antiques were stolen from a shop in High Street St Martins, Stamford. Between 10am on Monday and 5pm on Wednesday last week two Royal Doulton jars were stolen from a cabinet. And at about 2pm on Wednesday last week antique jewellery and a cigar cutter and a dress set were stolen.

Police have not yet confirmed the name of the shop where the theft took place.

Officers are also looking into a house burglary. Between 11am on Wednesday and 10am yesterday (Thursday). Car keys and jewellery were stolen from a home in Tinwell Road, Stamford.
