Appeal after shopper’s purse is stolen in Stamford

A PURSE was stolen from a shopper’s trolley last week.

A 63-year-old woman’s purse was taken from the pocket of a shopping trolley outside the British Heart Foundation shop in High Street, Stamford, on Friday between 11.15am and 11.30am.

Police are now warning shoppers to keep their valuables safe and are giving away security purse chains and bells from the town’s station in North Street.

Officers are also appealing for witnesses to the purse theft. Call police on 0300 111 0300.
