Police believe these women may have witnessed an assault in Central Nightclub and are urging them to come forward

POLICE are looking for two women who may have witnessed an assault in a nightclub.

A 30-year-old man, believed to be from Stamford, was punched in the head in Central Nightclub, Broad Street, Stamford at about 1.30am on Friday.

He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where he is now in a stable condition.

A 32-year-old man from Sheffield was arrested in connection with the attack and was released on bail until March 17.

Police have released an image of two women who they believe were in the area at the time of the attack and may have witnessed the incident. Officers are urging them to get in touch as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about the attack should call 101, ask for DC Richard Nethercott and quote incident 19 of February 3.
