Police investigating a cannabis factory in Easton-on-the-Hill have made an arrest.

A 23-year-old man from Peterborough was been arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation and bailed pending further investigations yesterday (Tuesday).

The arrest follows the discovery of 64 young plants and 24 semi-mature plants “almost ready for harvest” at a property in Westfields on Friday.

A police spokesman said: “Inquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.”

Westfields residents gathered in the street to watch the raid on Friday morning.

Co-owner of Dhillon’s News and General Stores Rajbant Dhillon said: “It’s not something that happens in a village like this. It’s a quiet village and it was shocking to people.

“We have been here 11 years and we have never seen anything like it.”
