Burglars strike in Stamford, Bourne and Rippingale

POLICE are looking for witnesses to a number of burglaries.

Thieves broke into a house in St Peter’s Terrace, Stamford, through the front window on Friday or Saturday night.

They took car keys, a camera, a computer and a wallet.

Lidl supermarket in Ryhall Road, Stamford, was raided last night (Sunday). Burglars disabled the alarm, cut the power and forced entry through a side door before attempting to break into a safe. It is not yet known if anything was taken.

Thieves stole cigarettes from the BP garage in Casterton Road, towards Great Casterton, between 12.45am and 1am this morning (Monday). Three men wearing balaclavas were seen near the garage around the time of the burglary.

In Bourne, burglars attempted to break in to a house in Abbey Road on Thursday night. The lock on the front door was tampered with but nothing was stolen.

And in Rippingale thieves broke into a garage in Station Road on Friday night. They took a lawnmower, petrol and beer.

Sector inspector for Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings, Mike Burnett, appealed for anyone with information on the burglaries to get in touch with police by calling 101.
