A DOG walker has called on people to stop smashing glass bottles in the street.
Anne Steele, 30, from Kesteven Road, has noticed an increase in broken beer bottles in her road while out walking her Cairn terrier Jack.
She said: “It has been driving me mad. It seems to be everywhere. I saw eight smashed bottles on one walk.
“It has definitely got worse recently but it has been quite a problem for a while.”
South Kesteven County Council cleans the road every three weeks, and will come and clean up broken glass within 24 hours if it is reported.
But Mrs Steele wants people to stop smashing the bottles in the first place.
She added: “My concern is trying to stop the people who are breaking the glass. The council can’t come every week to clear it up.
“Thankfully my dog hasn’t cut his feet. But there are schools on this road.”
Police community support officer David Vines urged anyone who saw people smashing bottles to call police on 101.
