Credit cards stolen from shopper in Morrisons car park, Stamford

A thief stole credit cards from a vehicle while their owner was distracted.

The theft happened in the car park of Morrisons supermarket in Uffington Road, Stamford, at about 10.15am on Tuesday.

Police said one man approached a shopper while they were putting their trolley away.

The man distracted the shopper while another man got into their vehicle and took several credit cards.

The cards were later used to withdraw money. The man who distracted the shopper is described at white, 5ft 11in, of medium build with short dark hair, wearing a smart navy shirt and jeans.

Police community support officer Chris Clarke advised shoppers to lock their vehicles while putting trolleys away.
