Five bailed over robbery allegation in Oakham

FIVE people have been arrested in connection with a robbery in Oakham on Boxing Day,

The males aged 23, 20, 17 and two aged 16, have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The incident took place at about 10.30pm on Boxing Day in West Road, Oakham, when the victims, all in their 20s, were approached by four men and threatened with knives.

The thieves stole a Mulberry Purse, two iPhones and some Golden Virginia tobacco before punching one of the victims and kicking the car they were sitting in, causing damage to the driver’s door.
