VANDALS tipped the contents of flower planters into the Bourne Eau in South Street over the weekend.

The three flower planters, owned by the Bourne United Charities, were up-ended on Saturday night.

Bourne United Charities chairman Trevor Hollinshead said: “They are a sitting target, perched there on the fence.

“This is not the first time this has happened. People seem to think it is funny but it is not at all.”

The containers will now be fixed more firmly.

Bourne in Bloom committee member Nelly Jacobs said: “It is such a shame they have been vandalised.”

“It is sad there are some people who are trying to improve the town and then people do this.”
