SECURITY marking events are being held to combat thefts of catalytic converters.

Police say 25 catalytic converters have been stolen from Bourne, the Deepings, Stamford and Witham-on-the-Hill and there have been 11 stolen from the Bourne area alone since Thursday last week.

They have organised a series of events for people to have their catalytic converters security engraved for free at garages, as well as issuing bright yellow warning stickers in the window telling potential thieves that the car is security marked.
