ABOUT 600 homes and businesses in Ryhall are without phone lines or broadband today (Friday) after thieves stole copper cables.
Nearly 900 metres of underground cable were stolen from along the A6121 between Ryhall and Stamford affecting the village primary school, the Post Office and Store, businesses and homes.
Replacement cabling is being transported from Milton Keynes and engineers will be working over the weekend to get it reconnected as soon as possible.
Some customers have been told this might not be until Monday evening.
A spokesman for BT Openreach said: “We would appeal to local residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour in or around street cabinets or manhole covers immediately.”
Anyone with information about the theft can contact police on 0116 222 2222.
