A man will face trial after denying starting a fire in his flat on New Years’ Day.

James Francis, 28, pleaded not guilty to a charge of arson being reckless as to whether life was endangered at Lincoln Crown Court on Friday.

The charge follows a fire on New Years’ Day at Francis’ former home in a flat above a hairdressers’ in Abbey Road, Bourne.

Francis was granted conditional bail to live at an address in Edinburgh Crescent, Bourne, and the case was adjourned for trial on a date to be fixed.
