Crime figures are falling in Stamford, according to police.
Police community support officer David Vines spoke at a meeting of Stamford Town Council on Tuesday.
He said there had been a decrease in domestic burglaries this year by 63 per cent.
Non-domestic burglaries were down by 30 per cent, violent injuries fell by 56 per cent and antisocial behaviour was down by nine per cent.
Officer Vines said shoplifting had risen and police were taking steps to address this.
Councillors asked for figures as well as percentages and officer Vines agreed to come back with them.
