STAMFORD has a new PCSO.
Betsy Gratton, 36, moved to Stamford in May after starting with the police in March.
She previously worked in retail but decided to join the police after spending a year as a volunteer town enquiry officer.
Officer Gratton said: “I really enjoyed that and it was good experience engaging with people.
“I have enjoyed my first few weeks in Stamford, people have been very friendly and the Queen’s visit was a highlight.
“I am looking forward to working with the team here. I hope people will come and talk to me if they see me in the street.”
Officer Gratton was one of a number of police patrolling Stamford on Friday to make people aware of purse and handbag thefts. Such thefts have been on the increase in recent weeks.
If you have any concerns or would like to talk to police call the 101 non-emergency number.
