POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an attempted burglary.
A property in Melton Road, Whissendine, was broken into at about 11.40am on Tuesday last week.
The burglars ran off after they were disturbed by the homeowner.
Two men were seen running away from the house and police want to talk to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area.
Det Con Sam Bates, investigating, said: “Two men were seen running away towards the sports centre just after 11.40am. If you saw these men or you witnessed any part of the incident then please get in touch.
“Even if you’re not 100 per cent sure about what you saw we are still asking that you contact us. Any calls received will be treated in confidence.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call 101, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer’s identification number 4411. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
