A school’s playing field has been dug up by treasure seekers.
Police have received two reports of someone digging more than 40 holes on the field at Kirkstone House School in Baston.
The holes are believed to have been dug by people using metal detectors on the field.
The school said it has not caused a major disruption to its sports teaching because it has a number of playing fields to use.
A police spokesman said: “This is criminal damage and we need your help to catch them.”
Anyone who spots a people digging up the field should call police on 101 quoting incident number 296 of September.
