A Stamford woman has been warned she could be jailed after she admitted a £50,000 fraud.
Jayne Breckons, 58, of Berrybut Way, Stamford, admitted a single charge of fraud when she appeared at Lincoln Crown Court on Thursday, November 5.
The offence occurred between November 20, 2012 and December 30, 2013.
The fraud charge states Breckons abused her position of lasting power of attorney and incurred unauthorised expenditure from a couple’s bank account for items for her personal benefit. Judge Michael Heath adjourned sentence until December 17 for the preparation of two reports on Breckons.
Judge Heath told Breckons: “I am going to adjourn sentence in your case until December 17 so a pre-sentence report can be made on you by the probation service and for those who advise you to obtain a psychiatric report.
“You can have conditional bail but you must understand the fact I grant you bail today does not mean you will not go to prison when you are sentenced.”
