Stamford man, 18, accused of making threats against Celtic staff

A Stamford man was arrested today for allegedly posting threatening comments online aimed at senior staff at the Scottish football club, Celtic.

The National Football Co-ordination Unit arrested the man in a raid at his home.

He was one of two men held in operations by Strathclyde Police.

A 21-year-old man was arrested in Aberdeen by officers from the force’s hate crime unit. He is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Both men are alleged to have posted threatening and offensive comments on a social networking website.

Next week, two men are to go on trial in Scotland accused of conspiring to murder Celtic manager Neil Lennon and high-profile supporters of the club.
