Suspicious men attempting to scam money from drivers near Rippingale

A group of suspicious men have been trying to scam motorists for money.

Yesterday (Monday), between 11.30am and 11.50am, three smartly dressed men of Asian appearance flagged down a driver near Rippingale claiming they had no money for petrol. They were refused by one motorist but a second subsequently gave money.

When approached by police they made off at speed.

The men were in a dark X registered, medium sized saloon or hatchback Nissan car.

Police are urging anyone who sees a vehicle with three men matching this description to note the cars registration and contact them on 101.

A similar incident took place earlier at Old Somerby, near Grantham.
