Thieves have broken into a hair salon in Bourne, stealing more than £1,000 of hair products and equipment.
The culprits struck at Envi Hair Design, in Shires Court, off South Street, sometime between 10.45pm on Saturday and 9am today (Monday).
They managed to get in by breaking through the locked front door before emptying the till, which contained a £50 float, and taking four GHD hair straighteners, worth £432, a £175 BaByliss curl styler and Paul Mitchell and GHD shampoos and conditioners, worth £600.
Joint owner Sarah Atkinson, who runs the salon with business partner Laura Shilling, was devastated when she found out about the raid.
She said: “I had a call from the cleaner in the morning to say ‘you had better come down, the door has been smashed in’.
“I rushed down and when I got there I realised we had been robbed. It made me feel quite sick.
“I think they’ll be looking to sell the products on.
“They’ve taken out a bit of the wall out as well where they levered the door open so we’ll have to get that replaced.
“We’re determined not to let it affect us. We’re going to be up and running again as soon as we can.”
The salon remains closed today but Sarah hoped it will reopen for business tomorrow.
Police are calling for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
Anyone with information is being urged to call police on 101 and quote incident number 66 of October 21.
