Wife cleared of murdering retired headteacher Michael Parkinson

A WOMAN who stabbed her husband to death after a row over money has been cleared of his murder.

A jury six men and six women took five hours to find Jennifer Parkinson, 65, not guilty of murdering retired headteacher Michael Parkinson, who had moved from Rutland to Hampshire with his wife.

Parkinson stabbed her husband to death in their penthouse flat in a gated community off Mumby Road, Gosport on March 22 last year.

She has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and will return to Winchester Crown Court to be sentenced on Wednesday, May 4.
