Part of Gas Lane in Stamford is cordoned off by police

A 19-year-old woman has been injured in an assault.

Police were called to Gas Lane, Stamford at about 11.30pm yesterday (Thursday) after a report that a 19-year-old local woman had been assaulted.

The victim does not have serious injuries. Police say investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made.

Part of the road was cordoned off but has now been reopened.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed an assault, or who saw any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch with them via the non-emergency 101 number.
