Cyclist injured in collision with car

A cyclist was taken to hospital with an injured neck after a collision with a van.

The man was injured at 1.37pm on Tuesday, August 1, on Normanton Park Way, just off the A606, near to Empingham.

A crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service was sent to the scene between Stamford and Oakham.

They took the injured man to Peterborough City Hospital.

Leicestershire Police officers also attended and the road was blocked for about an hour.

The man was later released from hospital and his injuries are not thought to be serious.
