About 35 keen cyclists joined to battle the bad weather as part of Velo Club Rutland’s first ever Christmas ride.

Members met at Oakham Cycle Centre before finishing at the cafe at Wymondham Windmill on Saturday for the club’s Christmas Mince Pie Ride.

Member David Smith said: “The rain fell and the wind blew but, in the belief that there is no such thing as poor weather the group set off, determined not to let a simple thing like the weather get in the way of seasonal cheer.”
