Cyclists support town skatepark appeal

BMX riders have supported an appeal to build a new skatepark.

A total of nine teenagers raised £400 for the Stamford Skatepark committee by cycling around Rutland Water in October .

Youngsters handed over the money to committee members Sally Jordan and Colin Furze on Saturday.

The committee is trying to raise £200,000 to install a new skatepark on the Recreation Ground, Stamford.

Sally praised the youngsters.

She said: “They are enthuastic about the skatepark. ”

The committee is looking for volunteers to take part in a bag pack at Morrisons on Friday and Saturday, February 25 and 26.
