A CHURCH will soon be finding out if it has got the green light to complete a renovation project.
Bourne Methodist Church is hoping to complete a major internal building project to create a new meeting hall, which will cost £500,000.
The church is hoping to find out at the end of January whether The Methodist Church planning committee, in Manchester, has given them permission to go ahead with the project.
Members of the church, in Abbey Road, want to move the worship area onto the first floor of the church, creating a new hall on the ground floor. That would then be linked to the nearby existing church hall.
Property secretary for the church Keith Jones, of Galletly Close, Bourne, said planners had raised concerns about three minor technical points but these had been resolved by the architect.
He said once written approval came through the church would be able to submit grant applications.
Church members have vowed to raise £125,000 towards the costs.
