Deepings dancers donate £500 to neuro-disability hospital

A CHARITY fundraiser has received a cheque from a dance school.

The Deepings School of Dance decided to present £500 – part of the proceeds from a dance held in March – to the Royal Hospital of Neuro-Disability, which Mike Shattock, of Langtoft, is supporting.

Mike’s wife Sam is being cared for in the hospital in Putney, London, after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Principal of the dance school Marina Palmer said the school decided to support Mike’s efforts because the couple’s daughter Zoey, 14, attends.

She said: “As we know the family we thought it would be a nice gesture to make this donation, which Mike was very pleased to accept.”

The dance was held in memory of the founder of the school Gwen Wilbourne. A further £200 raised will be given to Help for Heroes.

Mike hopes to raise £10,000 for the hospital.
