A PET owner received a belated Christmas present on Wednesday when her missing cat was found.
Nine-month-old Beau disappeared from Elsea Park in Bourne about two weeks ago. Owner Caroline Munday was worried he had been stolen or accidentally locked in a garage. But a chance meeting with dog walkers in the wood near her home led her back to the much-loved pet.
Ms Munday said: “The dog walkers said their dogs had seen a cat and chased him up a tree. I am delighted to have him back. He is quite thin and needs feeding up but he seems very happy to be home.”
Ms Munday thanked the dog walkers who found her cat along with the people who had called her after an article about Beau appeared in last week’s Mercury.
She added: “It’s heartening to know there are some cat lovers out there.”
