Two Uppingham town councillors visited West-minster to give a presentation to an all-party parliamentary group about “localism”.

On Wednesday last week mayor David Casewell and deputy major David Ainslie made the presentation at the Houses of Parliament.

Coun Casewell said: “It was an exciting day, which offered us both an insight into the world of Westminster, and particularly the myriad committees which are the lifeblood of the parliamentary system. We hope that in a small way Uppingham Town Council has made a contribution to this process.”
