A PHOTOGRAPHER got the rare opportunity to act as a witness at a wedding.

Tracey Rees and Andrew Hudson, from Northampton, were determined to have a personal wedding and decided to get married at the registry office in Stamford on June 22.

The wedding was such a quiet affair that the loved-up couple asked their photographer Don Lambert, who is based in Stamford, to be a witness.

Don said: “They absolutely loved Stamford and they wanted the minimum of fuss and some lovely relaxed photos around the town they loved.

“When I got there to take the photos, they asked if I would be a witness. I really was chuffed because you don’t expect it when it’s two strangers. It’s not every day you get to a wedding and get asked to be the witness.

“I have never seen a couple so mad over each other. It was a lovely day.”

The couple were so pleased with Don’s work that Tracey e-mailed him afterwards thanking him as he had “captured our wedding perfectly” and made the day “fun and memorable”.
