IT was eggs galore in Bourne this weekend as a host of fun activities were held to celebrate Easter and unite the town.

Shoppers were entertained by the Easter bunny, traders competed in an Easter bonnet competition and children were counting up eggs in a giant hunt as part of a day of fun held on Saturday.

Crowds also enjoyed a craft fair, photo exhibition, the farmers’ market and a cocktail tasting session as well as other activities.

The events were organised by members of the Bourne Traders Association to unite traders in Bourne and attract more shoppers to the town.

Anthea Pullen, secretary of the association and owner of Anth’s Bespoke Cards in the Angel Precinct, said: “All the events went really well. People seemed to be having a great time despite the weather and it really gave shops the chance to shine as well and make themselves known to shoppers.

“We’re hoping to make it an annual event.”
