VILLAGERS gathered together to be part of a diamond jubilee photo.
More than 100 Edenham and Grimsthorpe residents of all ages were captured on camera outside Edenham Village Hall today (Saturday).
The photo opportunity kicked off a jubilee party, with food and games and the culmination of a village-wide decorated wheelbarrow competition.
Pat and Mike Smith, of the Old Bakehouse, won the contest to decorate a wheelbarrow on the theme of “60 Glorious Years”.
And before the winner was announced, a commemorative jubilee plaque was unveiled on the side of the village hall.
Grimsthorpe resident Tim Bradley, 24, was excited to see the whole community in one place. He said: “It’s nice that it can still happen in this day and age. Last time it happened was at the millennium.
“I’m not the most patriotic person but driving around seeing all the bunting is touching.”
Lucie Wilson, 24, also from Grimsthorpe, made 125m of bunting for the village hall out of materials donated by Edenham Primary School. She added: “The jubilee has created a massive sense of community that has brought people together.”
