COLLEGE students are sharing their passion for art by helping younger children to stage an exhibition.

New College Stamford students Beth Webster, Letitia Derrick and Sarah Atkinson are hosting workshops with pupils from The Bluecoat School and Stamford Junior School ahead of the event.

The project is part of their BA in Fine Art which requires the second year students to host their own exhibition.

Beth, 20, said: “We could have displayed our own work but we thought it would be nice to get children from some of the primary schools involved. The theme of the exhibition will be recycling and how it affects us.

“We will be going into the schools to work with the children on their pictures before the exhibition.”

Five children from Bluecoat School and 24 from Stamford Junior School are involved.

The exhibition will be staged at New College Stamford from Monday, April 4, until Friday, April 6, with a preview evening for the young artists and their families.
