An author returned to his former school to inspire a new generation of writers.

Edward Trayer, who writes under the name Billy Bob Buttons, visited Bourne Academy where he enjoyed a tour of the school before leading a workshop with some of the pupils.

English teacher Deborah Howard said: “The students were enthralled by his workshops on creating a character in story writing. A buzz of enthusiasm filled the library and beyond.”

Mr Trayer, 43, was a pupil at the school from 1984 until 1986. His books include Felicity Brady and the Wizard’s Bookshop, The Gullfoss Legends, Tor Assassin Hunter and Tor Wolf Rising.
