Hundreds of people enjoyed an autumn fair at a Stamford primary school despite competition for people’s attention in the town with the Georgian Festival taking place.

The event at St George’s Primary School raised about £700.

Chairman of the school’s parent teacher association Gail Minchell said: “It was super. We had a lovely day.

“We have wonderful supporters who always turn out to support us.”

There were games, stalls, mini quad bikes, refreshments and rides on a miniature Delaines bus amongst the attractions.

Mrs Minchell said: “All the funds, everything that the parents, teacher association raises goes back to the school.

“Thank you to all those who helped or turned out and the teachers who came out on the day. The kids loved it and so did the parents.”
